South Plainfield Education Foundation scores big with Top Golf Event.
On Sunday March 31, 2019 the SP Education Foundation held its 3rd annual fundraising event at Top Golf in Edison. Members in attendance volunteering their time were: Linda Kelly, Shannon Jefferys, Sandy Cassio, Debbie Boyle and Jimmy Gustafson. A special thank you to Jimmy, he was instrumental in the arrangements with Top Golf staff and our great attendance this year. The SP Education Foundation is a 501c(3) organization, classified as a Public Charity, and operate solely on donations. SPEF is not funded by tax dollars and helps our schools and students with programs not budgeted by the Board of Ed. Some of our programs include the annual SPHS Gold Card Picnic, Jr. Journalist award program, beautification of our school grounds with our Buy a Brick or Bench initiative, and hours of grant application writing which secured the purchase and installation of three new scoreboards for our Football, Softball and Baseball fields. SPEF is also the scholarship administrator for over 30 local organizations, gifting awards in excess of $100,000.00 annually.
