IMG_3479South Plainfield, NJ – South Plainfield High School’s TIGER TECH Robotics Team 5624, a Mid-Atlantic Robotics (MAR) / FIRST® Robotics Competition (FRC) team has seen success and an unprecedented 2016 competition season for a two year old team. Team 5624 was on both winning alliance teams and won a Judges Award at the Mt. Olive and Bridgewater-Raritan events, which put them in line to compete this past weekend at the MAR District Championship at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA. With accumulated ranking points to qualify, Team 5624 was invited to attend the FIRST® World Competition in St. Louis, MO, from April 27th to 30th.

IMG_3498To compete with other highly competitive teams from around the world attending the FIRST® World Competition, Team 5624 will share a round trip charter bus and staying in a hotel once in St. Louis. While funding for the three previous competitions was satisfied throughout the season, additional fundraising efforts are underway to offset each team member’s individual contribution for this competition. IMG_3503Team 5624 hopes to garner enough funding to get to St. Louis to compete. With generous support from the South Plainfield community at large to subsidize travel costs, Team 5624 can succeed. A GoFundMe web page has been set up at www.gofundme.com/tigertech for donations or contact TIGER TECH Robotics Team 5624 directly at the South Plainfield High School 908.754.4620. Team 5624 is supported through grants, donations and fundraising efforts. For more information about FIRST Robotics Competitions, visit www.firstinspires.org/robotics/frc.
